Hand-turned spindles in solid ash, each one individually socketed and glued into a sculpted saddle seat that is carved to the shape of the body. It is built for daily dinners rather than special occasions — light, quietly sprung through the back, and comfortable enough to linger in long after the plates are cleared, all without a cushion.
Ash is chosen for its flex and its pale, open grain: it absorbs the knocks of everyday use without splitting, and it only looks better as the edges soften and the colour warms with handling. Every spindle is turned on a lathe and sanded through several grits, so the whole chair feels resolved in the hand.
The saddle seat is scooped by hand to relieve pressure exactly where you need it, which is why a chair with no padding can stay comfortable through a long meal. Stackable in pairs, it is as practical as it is quietly refined.

Ash pales beautifully with age and light exposure; if you prefer to keep it even, rotate the chairs around the table occasionally so they weather at the same rate. Any scuff sands out with a light pass and a fresh coat of oil.
