Who we are
Who we are
Survings Pvt. Ltd., trading as XIAING, is the data controller responsible for the personal information described here. We are a furniture atelier — we design, make, sell, and deliver pieces — and everything we collect exists to serve one of those steps and nothing more. Our registered office, company number, and contact details are listed at the foot of this page. If you would like to speak to a real person about your data, write to privacy@xiaing.studio; a member of our team, never an automated system, will reply — usually within two working days.

What we collect
What we collect
We collect only what we need to design, sell, and deliver furniture, and to look after you long afterwards — never anything gathered just in case. In practice that means the account and order details you give us (your name, email, delivery and billing addresses, phone number, and the pieces you have bought or saved); payment confirmations from our provider, since we never see or store your full card number; the correspondence, chat messages, and showroom notes you send us, kept so we have context next time; your delivery preferences, such as access instructions and preferred time windows; anonymous, aggregated analytics about which pages are read, and only where you have consented; and your support and warranty history, so we can honour your guarantee without asking you to repeat yourself.

Why we collect it
Why we collect it
Every piece of data we hold maps to a specific, lawful reason. We process your order details to fulfil the contract between us — taking payment, arranging delivery, and providing customer support all fall under that same basis. We keep tax and accounting records because the law requires it, regardless of preference. We send the newsletter only on the basis of your consent, because you asked for it, and we measure site analytics only with consent that you are free to withdraw at any time. Where a legal basis ends — for example, if you withdraw consent — we stop the corresponding processing.

What we do not do
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone — we never have, and we have no intention of starting. We do not build advertising profiles about you, we do not track you across other websites or apps, and we do not quietly enrich your record with information bought from third parties. We will not email you unless you have asked us to, and we will never make a purchase, an account, or a warranty claim conditional on handing over data we do not genuinely need.

Who we share it with
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the handful of companies we rely on to run the business, and each receives only the minimum it needs. Our payment processor handles card details so we do not have to. Our delivery partners receive your name, address, and phone number so two people can carry a sofa to your door and reach you if plans change. Our email provider sends order confirmations and, where you have subscribed, the newsletter. Our analytics provider receives anonymised usage data, and only with your consent. Every partner is bound by a written data-processing agreement, may act only on our instructions, and is forbidden from using your data for its own purposes.

How long we keep it
How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as it is genuinely useful or legally required, then remove it. Order and invoice records are held for seven years, because tax law obliges us to. Your account details remain until you choose to close the account, at which point we delete or anonymise what we no longer need. A newsletter subscription lasts until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send. Analytics data is retained for around twenty-six months, and support correspondence for about three years so we can trace the history of any issue. When a retention period ends, deletion is the default — not the exception.

Your rights
Your rights
Wherever you live, we will honour the rights below. You never need to give a reason, and we will not make the process difficult. You may ask for access to a copy of everything we hold on you; correction of anything inaccurate or out of date; and deletion of your data, which we carry out except where tax law requires us to retain order records. You may request portability — your data in a structured, machine-readable file — and you may object to a particular use, or withdraw a consent you previously gave, at any time and without affecting anything lawful we did beforehand. To exercise any of these, email privacy@xiaing.studio and we will respond within thirty days. If we ever get it wrong, you may complain to your local data-protection authority — though we would value the chance to put it right first.

International transfers
International transfers
Your data is stored within our primary region, and we keep it there wherever we can. On the occasions a trusted provider needs to process information outside that region, we make sure the transfer is protected by an approved safeguard — either Standard Contractual Clauses or a formal adequacy decision — so your data carries the same protection abroad as it does at home. We do not move data to a new jurisdiction casually, and we review these arrangements whenever a provider or the law changes.

This site and our products are intended for adults, and the service is not directed at anyone under the age of sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we have no interest in doing so. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with information, please write to privacy@xiaing.studio; we will locate the data and delete it promptly, and confirm to you once it is done.

Changes to this policy
Changes to this policy
From time to time we may update this policy — to reflect a new service, a new provider, or a change in the law. When we do, we will always revise the last-updated date at the top of this page, and if the change is material and you hold an account with us, we will email you so it does not pass unnoticed. We will never quietly broaden how we use your data or reduce your rights; if a change would affect you meaningfully, we will make it easy to understand exactly what has changed and why.
